  5. Unless you are really stuck.  I wouldn't recommend using the 
  6. solve since the story of the game will be greatly hindered (and 
  7. its a great story!).  I haven't included what the entire plot is 
  8. so as not to ruin it.  So, use them when you need'em... 
  9.  
  10. SOLVING MEAN STREETS 
  11. -------------------- 
  12.  
  13. Although at first you are investigating into Carl Linsky's 
  14. murder, things get deeper and eventually you find yourself on a 
  15. mad plot to save everyone's brains (you'll understand as you play 
  16. the game).  Your primary objective then, is to gather up all 
  17. eight passcards and passwords from eight scientists and use them 
  18. to activate the destruct sequence on the "central" computer.  
  19. Here are the locations of all the cards and any special things 
  20. required to get them. 
  21.  
  22. ORANGE (Cal Davis).  Password: CHECKMATE 
  23.      This is found in the box found in the ape's cage in Cal 
  24.      Davis' lab at NC 3720.  To get it, you will need the pole found 
  25.      in Greg Call's lab (NC 8911). 
  26.      SECURITY:  Move Rat Cages.  Open Control Box.  Turn Off 
  27.                 Switch. 
  28.  
  29. PURPLE (Greg Call).  Password: KNIGHT 
  30.      This is found on the shelf behind the vines on the large 
  31.      stalagtite in his lab at NC 8911.  You will need the leather 
  32.      gloves found in Cal Davis' Lab (NC 3720). 
  33.      SECURITY:  Move small Stalagtite.  On/Off Button. 
  34.  
  35. BLUE (Carl Linsky).  Password: BISHOP 
  36.      This is found in Carl Linsky's Lab/Warehouse at NC 4675.  It
  37.      is found in the Band Aids can inside the wall-mounted Cabinet. 
  38.      SECURITY:  Open Bar.  Move Shoebox.  Turn Off Switch. 
  39.  
  40. RED (Ron Morgan).  Password: STALEMATE 
  41.      This is found in Ron Morgan's Beach House at NC 6470.  It is
  42.      inside the fish tank containing the killer fish.  You will 
  43.      require the fish food (to occupy them) which is found behind the
  44.      plant in the upper left corner of the room. 
  45.      SECURITY:  On/Off Button 3 on Coffee Table. 
  46.  
  47. GREEN (John Klause).  Password: PAWN 
  48.      Find John at NC 7012 and ask for it. 
  49.  
  50. YELLOW (Sam Jones).  Password: QUEEN 
  51.      Find Sam at NC 0021 and ask for it (you may have to beat or
  52.      bribe it out of him). 
  53.  
  54. GREY (Larry Hammond).  Password: KING 
  55.      Enter the Law and Order's Head Office at NC 5037.  It should
  56.      be in the safe (whose combination is in the closet inside the 
  57.      coat). 
  58.      SECURITY: On/Off Button at Desk.  Open Closet. (It's in 
  59.                there somewhere! - Can't remember right now.)

  61. BLACK (Bosworth Clark).  Password: ROOK 
  62.      This can be found in the Bus Station at NC 5194.  You will 
  63.      require the key found in Frank Schimming's/Lola Lovetoy's 
  64.      Apartment (NC 4605)
  65.      SECURITY: Move Art.  On/Off Button.

  67. NOTE:  Some of the security systems are only activated if you try
  68.        to steal something valuable.

  72. That's all it takes to solve it.  But there is a lot of running 
  73. around and a lot of interaction between characters in order to 
  74. find the locations for most of these places and people (along 
  75. with getting roughed up a little, getting sprayed with mace, and
  76. getting a whopping kick to the groin). 
  77.  
  78. Though the company must have over estimated the difficulty of 
  79. their game.  What they judged as taking 20-40 hours, I completed
  80. in about 10 to 10 1/2.  Though, the game wasn't easy... just 
  81. didn't take THAT long.
